Ms. Catie Wayne will be attending Vidcon 2015 in just 2 weeks. Vidcon will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California; right across the street from Disneyland. The convention starts on Thursaday July 23 and ends on Saturday July 25. Tickets are $150 and must be bought online.
Unlike last year where Catie was a Vidcon guest, she will be a regular attendee this year. That means she will not be in any panels nor have an autograph signing. She does however love meeting and interacting with her fans, so if you are attending Vidcon and you see her, feel free to approach her and ask for a hug, picture, and/or autograph. If you want an autograph from her, you may want to carry a sharpie with you. She might already have one on her, but you should have one yourself in case she does not.
She had a public meet up last year with the Animalist crew. An Animalist meet up won’t be happening this year since they are no longer around, but Catie is planning on having a meet up or two. I asked on her forum if she was going to do a public meet up and she responded with: “I was planning on it, but I wasn’t sure when. Probably on Saturday and Sunday at some point. I’ll announce it pretty soon.”
I’ll update this post when she makes that information known. She will most likely have the meet ups outside the convention center, so if you live in southern California and are able to get to the Disneyland area, you can meet Catie without having to pay the $150 for a Vidcon pass.
Here are a couple of videos from last year’s Animalist meet up.
In other news, Catie recently joined Vine. She has not yet posted anything on there, but follow her if you want to be notified when she does start using it. Catie’s Vine page
Catie’s birthday is coming up soon on April 28. She will be turning 23 years old. If you want to send her something like a birthday card or a gift, she has a p.o. box address that you can send it to. That address would be:
5758 Geary Blvd. #413
San Francisco, CA 94121
If you don’t want to or can’t send her something, but still want to wish her a Happy Birthday, the best way to do so would be through her twitter. The only other way would be to send her a private message on her forum, but it might take a while for her to actually see it. Like over a month. She gets behind on viewing those messages. Also know that you have to make 5 posts before you are allowed to send private messages on the forum.
Do not send your birthday wishes to her facebook fanpage. That page is run by someone else and Catie would not see it.
Two weeks ago, Fanboys Anonymous, a geek culture website, launched their 2nd Annual Internet Goddess Tournament. The tournament pits 32 women of the internet into deadly one on one battles, until only one remains to receive the title of “Internet Goddess”. By deadly battle, I mean that fans vote on their favorite, with the winner advancing to the next round. I am of course writing about this because Catie Wayne is one of the participants. In fact, she is the current reigning Goddess as she won the first tournament. Dave wrote about it last year. She received a plaque for the win, but has unfortunately never posted a picture of her holding it.
Here is the article Fanboys Anonymous wrote about Catie’s win. 2014 Internet Goddess Winner
Catie’s first opponent this year is a YouTuber and Viner by the name of Gabbie. Her YouTube channel is The Gabbie Show. Catie is currently winning this round with a score of 195 – 117 (63% of the votes). The poll should be closing soon, so Catie will definitely be advancing to the next round where she will most likely be facing her good friend Anna Brisbin (Brizzy Voices). Looks like Catie’s other good friend, Laina Morris (Overly Attached Girlfriend), will also be advancing. Laina is currently beating Collen Ballinger, who nearly beat Catie last year in the semi-finals. If Laina wins all her matches, she would face Catie in the semi-finals (because we all know Catie will win her matches).
Something that I find a little interesting in these match ups are the vote totals. Catie’s match up has a current total of 312 votes, but the other 7 match ups going on right now have less than 25 votes. This was a common thing last year as well. Most match ups were getting a fraction of the votes to what Catie and her opponents were receiving. Gabbie is one of the lesser known people in these 8 matches. Why does she have so many votes? Is it a coincidence that Catie keeps facing people who have many fans participating, or do her opponents get large totals because of an anti-Catie vote?
Catie’s match against Brizzy will probably start in two weeks. These past two weeks has been the first half of the tournament bracket and I think the other half starts today. I’ll continue updating this post with news and links as they become available.
Update: Round 2, has been in progress since May 18, Catie vs Brizzy.
Hello everyone. I’m AmuroGabe and Dave has hired me to keep this page updated with Catie Wayne news and information.
For those not aware, as of mid November, Catie no longer works for Discovery Digital Networks. We don’t know the exact reason for it, but Discovery Digital shut down many of their channels, including both Animalist and Anyhoo. This information is almost 3 months old now, but I still continue to see people ask Catie about those channels on twitter. In the 11 months she worked for them, Catie appeared in over 400 videos and hosted about 350 of them.
If you are interested in meeting the lovely Catie Wayne, your first chance this year will be at BABSCon in 2 months. BABSCon is a My Little Pony convention held in Burlingame, California (20 minute drive from San Francisco) on April 3-5. http://www.babscon.com/
Here she is confirming her attendance.
Catie was in 3 panels and premiered Friendship is Recapped at last year’s BABSCon. Unfortunately, her solo panel, Herd Chat, was not recorded. The /mlp/ board from 4chan hosted a panel that Catie was a part of. That panel was recorded, but the video has been taken down. Her 3rd panel was a panel she co-hosted and was about brony women.
If you are not able to make BABSCon or just not into MLP, the only other event that Catie has confirmed to be attending this year is VidCon. VidCon will be in Anaheim, California from July 23-25.
